NIC Components has extended its surface mount power inductor line to include metal composition inductors. An upgrade from our ferrite based shielded power inductors molded metal composite construction provides high saturation current characteristics (up to 110A) and high effi ciency (2x improvement. Supplied in low profi le (1.8mm ~ 5.2mm height) format for automated placement PCB assembly. Covering inductance range of .1uH to 10uH in 9 different size combinations.

NIC Components Advanced Aluminum Electrolytic Component Technology.

NSPE series Aluminum Electrolytic Hybrid technology.

Hybrid Technology construction capacitors feature a higher VDC , higher operating temperatures, ideal to replace solid polymer capacitors. NIC Components has expanded its NSPE product series family of high performance HYBRID CONSTRUCTION aluminum electrolytic capacitors to include extended temperature +135degree C and 80VDC and 100VDC ratings. The NSPE products feature ultra-low ESR, stability at low temperature and the high current rating performance of SOLID POLYMER electrolyte version aluminum electrolytic capacitors, and the advantage of liquid electrolyte construction (higher voltage ratings, higher temperature rating and improved tolerance to abnormal transient conditions). Ideal for use as highe voltage replacements or alternates to solid polymer (organic semiconductor type OS-CON) aluminum capacitors.

Five NSPE series are now available covering voltage ratings up to 100VDC, operating temperatures to +135degree C, and load life rating to 10,000 hours @ 105degree C. Compatible with Pb-Free (SAC Alloy) reflow soldering process; +260degree C & _250degree C soldering heat rated. LED Lighting / Aluminum Electrolytic Capacitor Selection for Powering LED Lighting ... Aluminum electrolytic capacitors are commonly called out (as lowest cost solution) for use in fixed location LED lighting applications. Selection of the correct component to meet lifetime requirement of the end-use application, requires understand of the wear-out behavior of the capacitor and review of the thermal environment. LED circuit designers should be aware of the capacitor performance characteristics changes over time at elevated temperatures, wear-out accelerators and failure cause - modes of different capacitor choices.
